7 Day Kalahari Experience

Day 1 - Leave from Johannesburg

Day 1: We depart early morning from Johannesburg and Pretoria for the North-Western province. En-route we will stop for breakfast and lunch. This night we overnight at one of the towns en-route. Dinner included

Day 2

Day 2: We depart from Upington for one of the wineries in the Orange River valley, where you will have the opportunity to taste and purchase some of the best wines on offer in the North-Western Cape. We then head for the Augrabies Falls. Augrabies, a Hottentot name, meaning "place of great noise" describes the thundering roar as the falls plummet into a wide ravine. You can hike along one of the many hiking trails, view the falls, or relax in the warm water of the swimming pool. Breakfast and lunch at own expense. Dinner included

Day 3

Day 3: After breakfast we are given the opportunity of do white water rafting down the Orange River before continuing north, bound for the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park wedged in the North-West corner of South Africa between Namibia and Botswana. This is a semi-desert area and one of the largest unspoiled ecosystems in the world. The next three evenings we stay at campsites in the Park listening to the sounds of Africa. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included

Days 4 & 5

Days 4 & 5: As soon as the gates open we start with our game drives. The majority of these two days are spent on game drives searching for as many of the 58 mammals, 55 reptiles and 260 bird species as possible in the enigmatic world of the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park. Day 6

Day 6: This is your last opportunity to spot that animal that has avoided us for the last two days since it is our final game drive before we exit this legendary park. After lunch we head for Upington where we spend our last night. (Bring along swim wear). Dinner at own cost. Breakfast, Lunch included

Day 7

Day 7: This morning we visit the Eye of Kuruman, the largest natural spring in the Southern Hemisphere (20 million litres of water daily). After a late breakfast we depart for Johannesburg and Pretoria. All meals at own cost
